This section includes volunteer activities that I have been involved in which are related to my professional work.
Organizer and Promoter| CSG-ED | 2020- present
Computing for the social good is an initiative which encourages educators to highlight the positive societal improvements of commputing. I became involved with the group in March 2020, while attending the pre-symposium event at SIGCSE and was asked by Dr. Richard Blumenthal to pitch hit for him since he wasn't not attending due to COVID-19. I have been participating actively ever since.
Board Member | BIDC | 2016-2022
The Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee is a professional group consisting of lawyers, therapists, court personnel and others who serve those who are involved with family law cases. I was introduced to the group in 2013. The BIDC puts on educational events for the professionals regarding issues facing the community and how to better serve our clients and their families. In 2016 I ran for the board and stayed on the board until I was term-limited. Secretary (2017-2018), Vice President (2019-2020), President (2020-2021) and Past President (2021-2022).
Legal Information | Boulder County Collaborative Divorce Professionals | 2015 -2019
First Thursday evening information session open to the public regarding pathways for divorce, including informaiton regarding litigation, collaborative divorce, mediation and other combinations.
Pro Bono Attorney | Boulder County Legal Services | 2013 - 2014
Represented select clients in protection order and Domestic Relations work as well as providing advise to the public at open family law clinic weekly.
Community Involvement
I have been engaged in my general community since I was in grade school. In recent years I have had to attend to medical issues and have not had as much time to devote to this as I would like. However, I am always thinking about this and wanting to participate in more. This section gives a sampling of the types of community activites I have participated in since undergraduate .
